Feb 15, 2018 | 3:49 PM

LETHBRIDGE – The third suspect accused in a downtown stabbing last month has been taken into custody, with his case briefly appearing in court Thursday, Feb. 15.

A lawyer speaking for Jonathan Travis Holy White Man explained that he is currently in hospital, and had the matter adjourned to Feb. 20 – the same day co-accused Rodney Bottle is set to return to court.

The third man charged in connection with the January incident, Jesse Davidson, also appeared in Lethbridge Provincial Court today. In that case, his lawyer asked for an adjournment to Feb. 21, giving them time to prepare for a bail application.

Around 7 p.m. on Jan. 30, members of the Lethbridge Police Service and EMS responded to a report of a stabbing at the Esso/Mac’s store along the 700 block of 6 Avenue South. They arrived to find a 35-year-old man with serious, life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the Chinook Regional Hospital, before being transferred to another hospital in Calgary where he was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit.

There is currently no update on his condition.

An investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit resulted in charges of aggravated assault against the three men, with police taking Davidson and Bottle into custody, and issuing an arrest warrant for Holy White Man.

Police have noted that all parties involved in the incident are known to each other and that it was not a random crime.
