LETHBRIDGE – Legal problems are something many Albertans face in their lifetime, yet many people can’t find or get the help they need. How do people find or get legal help or are they even able to get the help they need?

A public engagement campaign to better understand if Albertans face barriers when finding or getting legal help was launched in October, and a session is coming to Lethbridge.

The campaign, put on by the Law Society of Alberta, will run through Dec. 8.

The local session will be this Tuesday, Nov. 21 at the Sandman Hotel between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Officials want to hear from as many people as possible about their experiences finding and using lawyers and other service providers.

They’re also talking to Alberta lawyers to get their perspectives on the future of legal service delivery.

Don Thompson, Executive Director of the Law Society, says they’re committed to providing the public with opportunities to have discussions.

“We’re encouraging people to come out, ask questions, and share their thoughts about getting legal advice or working with lawyers.”
