Wildfire at Moon River Estates under control

LETHBRIDE – Alberta Emergency Alert is reporting that the wildfire that had threatened Moon River Estates Tuesday evening (Oct. 17) is under control.

That said, residents are not being allowed to return to the hamlet, which was evacuated earlier in the evening. Authorities say there is currently no power and emergency crews are dealing with hot spots that are still burning.

They have noted that the residences are safe, and that firefighters will remain on scene.
