UPDATE Thursday, Sept. 14 6:30 a.m.: The Blood Reserve has lifted its evacuation order.

UPDATE 8 a.m.: The evacuation area for the MD of Pincher Creek now includes all areas south of Highway 505 to Waterton Lakes National Park AND Castle Mountain Resort

WATERTON LAKES NP –    EVACUATION LIST — As of 3:50 am Sept 12

— Highways within Waterton Lakes National Park (Highways 5, 6 and Chief Mountain) are closed due to wildfire activity.  Do NOT remain in this area.

— A Mandatory Evacuation Notice is being issued to the residents South of Spread-Eagle Road (Township Road 3-4)

— A Mandatory Evacuation Notice is being issued to the residents South Highway 505 to Waterton Park. A State of Local Emergency has been issued for Division 1.

Residents of this area should leave. Head North on Highway 6. A reception center is activated at the Vertical Church, 1200 Ken Thornton Blvd.

— Cardston County has Declared a State of Local Emergency. Fire has entered the County.  Evaluation Centre Located at the civic center 67 – 3rd Ave West in the Town of Cardston.

 Evacuate immediately all areas between Waterton Park and Range Road 281 (Highway 800) from the U.S Boarder North to Township Road 40. Take all necessary precautions. 

— There is a serious grass fire resulting in the mandatory evacuation of residents in the area east of Range Road 2–3 south of Hwy 5 5 5. The evacuation area extends east to Highway 41. The Special Areas Board has declared a State of Local Emergency and fire crews are on scene.
 
Residents should immediately go the BINDLOSS School. 

— MD of Pincher Creek has declared a local state of emergency due to wildfire. Evacuation zone is still Waterton Park to Hwy. 505

—  Mandatory Evacuation for all areas between Waterton Park and Range Road 281 (Highway 800) from the U.S Boarder North to Township Road 40. Take all necessary precautions. 

—  The Blood Tribe has declared a local state of emergency due to the Waterton Parks wildfire potentially reaching the Blood Tribe
 
— Zone 1 (Fish Creek , St Paul’s area extending north to Russell / Many Fingers residences) . A Mandatory evacuation order has been declared for this area .
 
— The multipurpose building in Standoff has been opened to receive evacuees . Even if you do not intend to stay at the building evacuees are to register at the multipurpose building . 
 
— Zone 3 (north of Russell / Many Fingers residences extending to Lavern and little Chicago area) –  An evacuation ADVISORY has been issued for this area . Please be prepared to evacuate and take necessary precautions.

In all cases….follow the directions of authorities and listen to local media for further information.  Smoke may severely reduce visibility and create hazardous road conditions.  Residents evacuating should go the reception center or call 403-904-8016 to register.
