Junior Bulls advance to Canadian final

LETHBRIDGE – A trip to the World Series is on the line for the Lethbridge Junior Bulls.

The Bulls have advanced to the final of the Junior Little League Canadian Championship. The host team defeated B.C. representatives from Coquitlam/Fraser Valley 14-3 in the semi-finals Wednesday, Aug. 9.

Starting pitcher Ty Wevers allowed one run on one hit over six innings, with eight strikeouts and six walks. Wevers also hit his third home run of the tournament, while Brayden Peters also homered.

Lethbridge will play Team Ontario, the Oakville Whitecaps, in the championship final at 2:30 p.m. at Spitz Stadium. The winner will advance to the Junior World Series in Taylor, Mich. which begins Sunday, Aug. 13.
