New requirements for 2017 Lethbridge Municipal Election candidate registration

LETHBRIDGE – The next municipal election is less than nine months away, and the City of Lethbridge wants all prospective candidates to be aware of the new required registration process.
 
Anyone interested in running for Mayor or a position on City Council must file an application with the City’s Returning Officer before accepting or allocating any funds towards their campaign.
 
The application is available either at the Office of the City Clerk, or you can also get a copy at http://www.lethbridge.ca/City-Government/Elections/Pages/default.aspx .

All candidates will then be listed on the city’s website, and are responsible for notifying the City within 48 hours of any changes to the information the give on their application. The changes will then be noted and the register adjusted accordingly.

The next municipal election takes place Monday, October 16th.
