Taber residents charged in Thursday morning attack

TABER – Two Taber residents are facing charges, following an assault that left another individual with significant injuries to his face and jaw.

Around 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 16, Taber Police responded to complaints of a disturbance along the 5000 block of 56 Avenue, with the callers saying multiple assailants were attacking another person who was on the ground.

They arrived to find the victim suffering from injuries to his face and he was transported to hospital.

Through an investigation, police learned that the victim had been attacked by a man and woman while he was laying on the ground, and that the male suspect used a large metal flashlight as a weapon. The also noted that the suspects were known to the victim.

Andrew George Blasetti, 37, was arrested at the scene without incident and charged with aggravated assault and failing to comply with conditions of a recognizance. He is in custody, with a court appearance set for Feb. 21 in Taber. Meanwhile, 34-year old Dallas Kimberly Blasetti has been charged with assault, but is not in custody. She will appear in court March 21.

At this time there is no update on the condition of the victim.
