Early Morning Vehicle Fire Causes $50,000 Damage

LETHBRIDGE: City Police and the Fire Department are pegging a vehicle fire early Tuesday morning on the south side as suspicious.

Twelve firefighters from three stations responded to the alley in the 600-block of 7th street south around 2:20, where a vehicle in a back yard parking area was ablaze and the flames spread to two neighbouring garages.

Fire crews had the fire under control within 20 minutes and were able to save both garages and limit the damage to the exteriors only.

No injuries were reported. Damage to the structures and vehicle is estimated at $50,000

Fire investigators along with members of the Lethbridge Police Service are continuing the investigation to determine the origin, cause and circumstances.
